This European olive makes an impression with its broad base, deeply textured bark, and dramatic natural deadwood. Though compact in height, it carries the character and presence of a much larger tree.
Collected in California, this bonsai comes from the personal collection of Alex Mendoza, an award winning international bonsai artist who has worked in Europe and the United States. The tree began its training about ten years ago. Three years ago, Alex began a new design direction, building the living branches around its powerful old trunk.
